Alex
Adopted by Jerry & Andi Shafer

Alex is a placement dog.  He was being cared for in a home that just could not keep him any longer.  He was being housed outside with a bigger dog and though they had a great doghouse to use he still should not have lived outside.  Lynn knew she had to find Alex a good home where he would get the love and care he needed.  She contacted SJMSC Rescue and within a week a great home was found.

The Shafer’s who adopted Alex are amazed at how calm he is and how willing he is to please them.  Their old dog had run the house (and them) so this is something new for them.  Alex loves people and children and other dogs.  He is about 3 years old and came from a breeder in the Sacramento area.  He is kind of a blond with natural ears and the sweetest face ever.  Though he is a bit over weight now his new Mom has taken charge and has enrolled him in Weight Watchers@ (only kidding).

When the Shafers got to Lynne’s home and met Alex it was l great match.  He came right up to Jerry and wanted to be petted. When they took him home he curled up in the back seat and went to sleep.  Before they got home he got a shopping spree at PetSmart and he got to choose his own toys.  He is still unsure of his surroundings but we know that this is all a big shock to him and it will take some time for him to adjust.  He does enjoy watching his new Mom, Andi, throw the ball for him and then go pick it up.  Hey, people need to be humored, right?

SJMSC Rescue hopes this is the last stop for Alex and that he has found the home he deserves and a home for life.  Keep him in your thoughts.
