Buddy

Adopted by Diana Urban

Buddy is a two-year-old Salt & Pepper boy with natural ears.  He was purchased as a puppy from a person who told the buyers that Minis are VERY good with children.  They can be, and he was usually good with his own family of 4 kids and 2 adults.  The trouble began with the in-home childcare.  The owners didn’t understand that Buddy’s shyness and nervousness was the kids and he was asked to be part of the scene every day.  Buddy finally did the unthinkable and bit the owner’s niece (thankfully, on her shoulder).  She had been playing with Buddy but it obviously got out of hand.  Unfortunately Buddy was not current on his shots so he had to go to “doggie jail”.  He spent 10 days in quarantine and then was adopted by Diana Urban since he could not go back to his original home

Buddy’s new home is without kids and with one adult who will give him all the attention he can desire.  He went directly from the shelter to the vet and then to the groomer.  Buddy is a very happy little guy and was very adaptable and willing to go anywhere in the car – he danced and carried-on when he saw his leash.  His new owner plans on taking him everywhere with her, which will suite him just fine.

Remember that Minis were bred to be ratters and little kids can sometimes be mistaken as prey.  Tell anyone who is thinking about bringing a Mini into his or her home to do some homework first.  Is it the best breed for their home?  Don’t fall in love and then find out that it can work out for the family or the dog.  It’s not fair to the family or the Mini.

We hope that Buddy will have a wonderful life in his new home and our hearts go out to the original owners who had to give him up after loving him so much.  It was a hard thing to do, we know.
