McKever
Adopted
by Ron & Vicki Marien
McKever,
age 3 and his “home” brother McGregor, age 6, were in need of a home
and hopefully together.
The two had grown up together and were very devoted to each
other.
The boys had lived with an older man for over a year but they had
to find a new place to live do to the man’s failing health.
They were temporally placed with Jan who set out to find them a
real home.
SJMSC Rescue was contacted over the Christmas weekend.
The day after Christmas they were placed with Ron and Vicki.
Sadly
McGregor was not in the best of health.
Ron and Vicki pulled out all the stops and got him to a vet
immediately.
After many tests and vet stays he was diagnosed with Cushings.
This is an ailment involving the liver.
The little guy was drinking tons of water and had very little
control over the water passing through his system.
Greg went into a coma at the vet’s office and did not come out
of it.
The dogs had not been to a vet for well over a year, if they had
seen a vet, Greg might have survived the illness.
It’s so sad to loose a Mini and his brother is very lost with
out him.
McKever
now has two laps to choose from but his new owners really want another
brother or sister for him.
SJMSC Rescue is working on that for him and we hope a new story
will appear soon.
Rescue
is filled with special people who go out of their way to give their all
for little ones in need.
Ron and Vicki are an example of those special people and we know
their home will soon include a second Mini.
In the mean time McKever will have all the love and attention of
a devoted family.
We all wish him a long life and happiness with his new people.
