SAM

Rescued by Max and Barbara Whitworth

The story of Sam is another reminder of how easy it is to loose a dog to the streets.  When he was found on the highway (dumped?) his hair was about 3 inches long and very matted.  He was taken to a vet and groomer where he was given a check-up, shots and a hair cut.  He did fine with the groomer and clippers and bathing – he had obviously been groomed before, maybe his owner just didn’t believe in combs.  Laura his rescuer had Minis all her life and she would have kept Sam but she also has a 6 month old, male, German Shepherd pup.  The two started to have minor skirmishes and Laura did not want Sam to be hurt so she turned to rescue in hope that a more suitable home could be found.  Laura described him as the sweetest Mini she has ever known and he had the hearts of both her kids (5 and 7 years) and was loved by all.  But his safety was at stake.

Sam now has a new family who committed to loving him forever.  Max and Barbara live in Fresno and they traveled to Bakersfield to visit with Sam and they too fell for him.  Max and Barbara have had two Minis in the past and both lived long and happy lives and passes away from old age.  Sam will have the run of the house and as much love as he can handle.  He will be with his new human parents almost 24 hours a day so he is assured to have his every need attended to.  Sam, by the way, is about 4 years old, salt & pepper with natural ears and has that Schnauzer way to win the heart of everyone they come in contact with.  We know that his life will be full and happy and as the years pass he to will go from old age after years of LOVE.

Thank you Laura for your courage in giving him a life where he will be number one, we know you and the kids will miss him but we know that his new parents will give him a wonderful life.
