Stevie Ray

Rescued by Elaine May

Stevie came into rescue after coming to the US from Taiwan.  He is blind with a number of medical problems but has a heart and so much love to give, he is irresistible.  A little S&P boy with so much to give.  His new family is able to spend a lot of time with Stevie and they even speak Chinese so he feels at home and understands the language.  Wendy B. was responsible for the rescue and foster until his new human parents came along.  Here is Wendy's story:

Stevie Ray is a unique boy. He was found 3 weeks ago at a shelter of 30 dogs living in absolutely horrible conditions. Being blind, he had somehow gotten stuck on top of a 4 foot high table, and had obviously not been able to get off to go to the bathroom, or eat or drink, for the few days he had been there. We took him to our shelter, and he has been rapidly doing better.

His cataracts appear to have come on recently, as he is still adjusting to his blindness. Even so, he is a sweet and loving little boy- perhaps surgery could help his sight, but we haven't been able to determine that. He is a bit overweight, but is not too happy about walking on a leash when he can't see where he is going, so it's hard for him to get exercise. He does love to cuddle, and with TLC and patience, he will be a wonderful companion.
