Board Meeting Minutes
Sunday,
July 30, 2000
Members present:
Marty Goldberg, Dorothy Anderson, Dan Durigan, Patricia O’Brien,
Joe Ratto, Dennis Ross, Pam Satlof.
President,
Martin Goldberg, called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M.
The meeting was held at the Hidden Valley Park in Martinez, CA
during the SJMSC, “Dog Day Afternoon” club picnic.
Patricia
O’Brien made a motion to accept the last Board Minutes as read.
Motion passed.
Report
of the President: Marty
Goldberg expressed satisfaction with the well attended turnout at the
SJMSC, “Dog Day Afternoon” club picnic event.
It was announced that the SJMSC records show 57 households listed
containing membership(s). This
membership establishes the SJMSC as the largest Miniature Schnauzer Club
in Northern California.
Treasurer’s
Report: Pam
Satlof reported the SJMSC received $180 earmarked for the Rescue Fund. A balance of $1544 was reported for the SJMSC.
Patricia
O’Brien moved to pay $53 for the flowers sent to Rebecca and Cecil Galloway.
Motion passed.
Corresponding
Secretary: Dan
Durigan received one puppy request and the request was referred to
Brenda Couey.
Breeder/Handler
Committee: The
committee is to meet and report to the Board a resolution to support
continued advertising for Breeders/Handlers on the SJMSC Website.
It was suggested that a $50 annual fee be levied from each
Breeder/Handler to support the cost of advertising on the SJMSC Website.
Board/General
Membership Meetings: Pam Satlof moved to revise
the required number of Board and General Membership meetings to be held
during the calendar year. Motion
tabeled.
Dan
Durigan made a motion to take the discussion on the number of Board and
General Membership meetings back to committee for resolution. Motion passed.
Next
Board Meeting: August
20, 2000, following the Grooming Workshop in Danville.

Board Meeting Minutes

The board meeting was
called to order at 1:50 by the president, Martin Goldberg at his home
located in Danville, CA. The
recording secretary was not present and Cleo Home acted as recording
secretary.
ATTENDEES: Pam
Satlof, Martin Goldberg, Dan Durigan, Dorothy Anderson, Patricia
O’Brien, Cleo Home.
The agenda was
reviewed and approved.
Minutes
of the last meetings: Approval of the previous meeting minutes was
deferred, pending publication.
President’s
Report:
Non-profit state forms need to be filed.
Dan Durigan as Corresponding Secretary will file.
Corresponding
Secretary:
Dan Durigan reported. He
received the state form and will file along with the Bi-annual
registration fee of $20.
Treasurer:
Pam Satlof reported. Pam did
not have the detailed report but reported that the club is solvent.
Membership:
Marty Goldberg reported for Dennis Ross.
The club has received numerous new membership applications!
Fun
Matches:
Cleo Home reported. The next
fun match is at the Yuba City dog show October 14 and the club’s fund
raiser for Rescue sponsoring an all breed costume contest for cash prizes
in two divisions, individual (one dog) and ensemble (multiple dogs). Rebecca Galloway is the chair again for this event that was
lots of fun last year. Our
costume contest literally stopped the fun match and we were asked to host
an all breed event this year.
Public
Education:
Cleo Home reported. Dog Day
Afternoon was on the same day as the Portland MSC.
Cleo will contact the Portland club so we can ensure we aren’t in
conflict next year so people can attend both events if they like.
Rescue:
Pam Satlof reported. Our most
recent rescue is “Cooper”, rescued by Kristen Keast.
Pam is coordinating getting all of the stories together along with
pictures so we can publish on the web site.
We have some really heartwarming, miraculous stories thanks to the
wonderful rescuers!
Information
Technology: Marty Goldberg reported.
The club web site cost is stabilizing and after discussion Patricia
O’Brien and Pam Satlof seconded to accept the committee’s
recommendation that each breeder shall be charged by the club a fee of $40
annually for listing on the club’s web site breeder page beginning in
September, 2000, effective on October 1, and billed annually in January
thereafter.
By-laws:
Marty Goldberg reported. Discussed
was amending “Article III Meetings and Voting” to require only one
formal board and general meeting annually.
Marty motioned to accept the amendment and send out to members for
vote. Dan Durigan seconded.
Motion passed.
Next
Board Meeting: Following Best of Breed judging at Stockton Dog show 11/26.
Patricia
O’Brien moved that we adjourn the meeting and Pam Satlof seconded;
motion passed. The meeting
adjourned at 2:40.

Afternoon” SJMSC picnic event held at the Hidden Valley Park in

President,
Martin Goldberg called the meeting to order at 1:25 P.M.
The meeting was held in conjunction with the “Dog Day
Afternoon” club picnic at the Hidden Valley Park in Martinez, CA.
Pam
Satlof made a motion to approve the minutes of the last General Membership
Meeting. Motion passed.
Report
of the President: Marty
Goldberg welcomed all the members, guests and their respective miniature
schnauzers attending the SJMSC “Dog Day Afternoon” club picnic.
He expressed hope that this picnic would become an annual club
event. There were 40
miniature schnauzers at this year’s event.
Treasurer’s
Report:
Pam Satlof reported a balance of $1544 in the SJMSC bank account.
Membership
Chairperson: Dennis
Ross reports seven memberships published and
three or four new applications have since been received.
There are 57 member households establishing the SJMSC as the
largest miniature schnauzer club in Northern California.
Rescue
Committee:
Pam Satlof introduced four rescued miniature schnauzers and their
respective owners.
